The four winners of the RBS 6 Nations Party were announced on 24 February during the BBC’s live coverage of the RBS 6 Nations. Included in the final four was Lymm RFC (England), first club of Harlequins player David Strettle who made his debut for England in Saturday’s match between Ireland v England at Croke Park.

The other three clubs that will host an amazing RBS 6 Nations Party on 17 March, the final day of the RBS 6 Nations, are Malahide RFC (Ireland), Perthshire RFC (Scotland) and Waunarlwydd RFC (Wales).

Over 8,000 nominations were received from all over England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. In total, 75% of rugby clubs were nominated. Four clubs were finally chosen after much scrutinising by the selection panel, which included rugby legends Ieuan Evans, Andy Nicol and Jeremy Davidson. The panel also comprised former England international and chief executive of the Professional Rugby Player Association Damian Hopley, as well as representatives from the BBC and RBS.

Howard Moody, Group Director, Communications, The Royal Bank of Scotland said: “As sponsors of the RBS 6 Nations, we wanted to give something back to the clubs that nurture and develop the rugby stars of today and the future. David Strettle is a perfect example of how important these clubs are and we really hope that the four winning clubs will have a day to remember on the 17 March – the final day of the RBS 6 Nations.”

Each club can invite 250 guests to the RBS 6 Nations Party, which will show all three RBS 6 Nations matches on a giant outdoor TV screen, plus food, drinks and RBS 6 Nations goody bags.

In addition to the amazing party, each club wins a 42″ flat screen TV for their clubhouse plus new sporting equipment and a donation to a community project of their choice.

To enter the competition, fans nominated a rugby club of their choice and explained in 25 words or less what this rugby club adds to the local community.
