Italy go into Saturday’s clash with Uruguay in Montivideo hoping to build on their best ever RBS 6 Nations campaign as they prepare for the World Cup in France.

The Azzurri finished fourth in this season’s tournament thanks to their first away win in the competition, against Scotland at Murrayfield, followed by victory over Wales in Rome.

Coach Pierre Berbizier could give debuts to uncapped duo Christopher Burton and Enrico Patrizio who have both been handed the chance to stake a claim for a place in the World Cup squad.

Italy should be well equipped to deal with a Uruguay side which failed to qualify for the tournament later this year. Berbizier’s side are sure to face tougher opposition in the shape of Argentina a week later in Mendoza.
