Italy fly to Poland on Sunday for the next stage in their World Cup preparations and coach Pierre Berbizier wants to maintain the training intensity with the World Cup in France looming in September.

The Azzurri will be in Poland until Tuesday August 7 and Berbizier will move even closer to deciding his final World Cup 30 after trimming seven players from his training squad recently.

Berbizier said: “We are going to Poland for the third stage of training before the September World Cup.

“We are still pushing hard, even after near a month of hard training. I am very happy about my players approach to the training meetings, they are taking all the sessions very seriously as all professional players must do.

“I want to thank my background staff, for the hard work and commitment they put in the last month.

“We are looking to be at our best before the World Cup. It will be vital that everyone gives 100% in training.

“It is very important to get every detail right, even the little ones. We are coming from three weeks of very hard work, where the quality of our training was at a very high standard.

“The first game against the All Blacks is coming very fast, and it will be fundamental that the players continue to work with determination and concentration.

“The intensity of our training must continue, at least until the week of the Test match against Japan, it must be very high.”
