Scotland winger Simon Webster is facing a battle to be fit for Edinburgh’s Magners League match against Llanelli on Sunday.

The 26-year-old has been suffering from a shin infection and will have a fitness test to determine whether he can take his place in the starting XV.

Head coach Andy Robinson has named centre Matt Dey among the replacements for the Murrayfield contest as he seeks his first victory in charge of the Scots.

Dey has not been involved since September and has earned a recall after performing well with Heriot’s.

The 26-year-old said: “I’ve played for Heriot’s over the past three weeks after recovering from an elbow injury.

“It was the first time I had played for Heriot’s for about five years.

“Going back I had mixed emotions because I was not involved with the Edinburgh first team, which is where you want to be.

“But at the same time you have got an opportunity to go and get some match fitness. I really enjoyed it and you feel like you can help them out while they are helping you out.”
