Wales and Ospreys captain Ryan Jones believes his country’s win in the RBS 6 Nations opener at Twickenham has given his club the confidence to triumph anywhere.

Jones led a Wales team, including a dozen Ospreys team-mates, to a 26-19 victory against England and they went on to claim the Grand Slam.

Ospreys now face two matches that will define their season with a European Cup quarter-final against Saracens at Vicarage Road on Sunday before travelling to Twickenham for the Anglo-Welsh Cup final against Leicester the following weekend.

Jones told BBC Sport: “It’s about experiences. Wales went to Twickenham as underdogs with a huge Ospreys contingent and we won. Going anywhere now shouldn’t hold that fear.”

Ospreys are aiming to complete a double over Saracens, having beaten them 30-3 in the Anglo-Welsh semi-final, and to avenge last season’s corresponding defeat to the Tigers.

“Teams fear us now. I’m hugely confident the reward is going to come this season,” Jones added.

“I’ve got a massive belief in this group of guys to a man. We are capable of beating anyone. It’s down to us.”
