Glasgow head coach Sean Lineen insists the Warriors’ home form can propel them to European Cup success next season.

Lineen’s men have been drawn in a tough pool with former champions Toulouse and Bath as well as Welsh side Newport Gwent Dragons in the 2008/09 tournament.

The former Scotland centre is looking forward to seeing Scotland stars such as Dan Parks, Graeme Morrison, Andy Henderson and John Barclay in action against the elite of European rugby.

And, despite their seeding landing them a tough pool, the New Zealand-born coach feels the atmosphere at Firhill Arena can help them to make progress.

He told Glasgow’s website: “The boys have pride in the jersey and there are a lot of young quality players that want to make a point.

“We’ve only lost one league game at Firhill last year, so home advantage is huge.

“The home crowd is hugely important. They are definitely our 16th man as we have one of the most vocal crowds in rugby which is something the other teams often mention.

“It’s up to us to give them something to cheer about.”
