Lineen: Warriors were out-muscled

Glasgow coach Sean Lineen lamented his side’s lack of physicality in the defeat to Munster in the Magners League.

The Warriors lost 26-13 at Firhill to ruin Lineen’s hopes of returning to league action following the RBS 6 Nations with a victory.

Former Scotland forward Johnnie Beattie gave Glasgow a great start when he crossed following good work from Test centre Max Evans.

But that was the highlight of the game from the Warriors as they lost to an Irish side at home for three years.

It was a particularly difficult defeat to take for Lineen as Munster were without many of their Ireland stars following their Grand Slam exertions – and his pack contained Scotland men like Beattie, Ally Kellock, Moray Low, Fergus Thomson and Kelly Brown.

Lineen said: “We didn’t win the game line battle and we didn’t and we didn’t front up physically. We were simply out-muscled. They had a very simple game-plan, maybe we tried to play too much rugby.”
