Edinburgh coach Andy Robinson insists Scotland prospect Andy Turnbull is still a work in progress despite him claiming the man-of-the-match award against Connacht.

Turnbull continued his try-scoring form by crossing against the Irish province, as Edinburgh cruised to a comfortable victory in the Magners League.

Scotland flanker Ally Hogg, prop Kyle Traynor – with his first for the club – and Scotland hooker Ross Ford joined Turnbull in notching tries for Robinson’s, side while Chris Paterson kicked three conversions and two penalties.

The triumph was a particularly satisfying one given that Hogg’ss late try secured a bonus point – the first Connacht had conceded since November last year.

While content with the victory and the performance of Turnbull, Robinson believes his young flyer can get even better.

Robinson said: “Andy took his try well and what we are working on now, to get him to the next level, concerns when there is less space.

“He can still be devastating if we get it right.”
