Edinburgh hooker Ross Ford heads to Ireland for a Magners League clash with Connacht and is looking to carry over the success he tasted there while on international duty to his club side.

Ford featured in Scotland’s 23-20 RBS 6 Nations win at Croke Park, ending Ireland’s hopes of picking up the Triple Crown and ruining their last game at the Dublin stadium.

And now the 25-year-old is hoping to claim double success and help his side secure a top four spot in this year’s Magners League with victory over bottom club Connacht on Friday night.

He said: “The Six Nations game was just a really good game to play in and really enjoyed it.

“It was quite a fast paced game and very open. There were a lot of turnovers and I think both teams were trying to play rugby and that suited us and at the end of the day we came away with the result which was what we were aiming for and I thought we deserved it.

“But now I travel to Ireland to face Connacht and it is a very hard place to play. They are very proud of their record at home so it is going to be a real challenge but at this end of the season we have to pick up these results and we have to strive to perform in every game and not get worried about how the opposition are trying to stop us playing.

“It is about us and focus on what we want to achieve.”
