Rob Moffat insists Edinburgh’s destiny lies in their own hands as they prepare for their must win final Magners League game of the regular season against Leinster.

Edinburgh head into the final round of fixtures knowing they must secure maximum points in Dublin while also rely on results to go their way to make the inaugural play-offs.

Moffat’s troops sit four points away from Munster who occupy the last remaining play-off spot and face a daunting trip to Cardiff to assure their own place.

Edinburgh have seen their top-four bid fly off course following three successive defeats and Moffat believes it is up to them and no-one else to get the job done.

“We have to go there and get five points – it is entirely up to us,” said Moffat. “But we are certainly capable of scoring four tries and doing so.

“We know how tough a game it will be to play Leinster in Dublin but it is a challenge, especially after how we have been playing, that we are all looking forward to.

“The ball is in out court – we know what we need to do – and there are no ifs or buts. We cannot just win the game – a tough enough task in itself – but we know that when we play well, the kind of rugby we can play, means we are capable of doing this.”
