Edinburgh lock Scott MacLeod admitted to being relieved after making his international comeback against Argentina – but has already set his sights on more caps.

The 31-year-old donned his first Scotland shirt since he inadvertently took medication for asthma and sparked a drugs-related furore.

But the second-rower was excited about running out for Andy Robinson’s side in Mar del Plata and is now looking forward to the season ahead for Edinburgh.

He said: “If I had finished my career without being capped after that it would have felt like a void.

“I feel like I’ve drawn a line under it now and can look forward to the future.

“I’m excited about Edinburgh. We have made some good signings. Everybody seems upbeat about it.

“Hopefully we can finish on a higher note than we did at the end of last season. The foundations are there, certainly.

“Hopefully we can build on what we did last year and look to the future.”
