France scrum-half Morgan Parra admitted Clermont’s European Cup semi-final against Munster had been one of the toughest games he had ever been involved in.

The 24-year-old, who featured in all five of France’s RBS 6 Nations clashes, played the full 80 minutes in the game at the Stade de la Mosson in Montpellier.

Parra kicked 11 points in the 16-10 success as the French side booked their place in their first ever Heineken Cup final.

And Parra said afterwards: “It’s one of the toughest European Cup games I’ve ever played. Munster played for territory but also played some rugby and put us under pressure.

“I’m really pleased for the squad to not have to go through what we did last year [Clermont lost to Leinster at the same stage a year ago].

“On their try we took a hit to our confidence. Maybe the past helped us to hold on and to go back up to their half to try to score.

“We need to be better at the end of games. The final might come down to three points, a drop goal or a penalty in the last minute. We will need to cut out our indiscipline. We have to make sure we score when we have chances.”
