Scotland centre Alex Dunbar is hoping to kick on for club and country after penning a new deal for Glasgow Warriors.

The 23-year-old made his international debut against Samoa in June, before touching down in Scotland’s 30-17 defeat to South Africa the following week.

As well as seeking to recapture the Warriors’ early-season form, Alex Dunbar is targeting more representative rugby, with the 2014 RBS 6 Nations just around the corner.

And he believes extending his stay at Scotstoun, to summer 2017, is an important step in developing as a rugby player.

“It was a real honour to make my Scotland debut in the summer and playing for the Warriors made that possible,” Dunbar told the club website.

“I am very ambitious and I want to win things in Glasgow and I believe we have a squad capable of doing that.

“There are a lot of internationals at Scotstoun and that is a great environment to be playing in as it pushes you on to become a better player.

“My game has really developed since I signed a professional contract with the club and I’m enjoying working with the coaches and players we have here.

“I’m still young so I’ve got a lot to learn and I want to continue to work hard to develop my game.”
