In-form wing Dougie Fife is eyeing revenge against Glasgow Warriors before he turns his attention to winning a place in Scotland’s RBS 6 Nations squad.

Fife has yet to pick up a cap for his nation but after four tries in four PRO12 games, the 23-year-old is knocking on the door for international honours.

And he showed his RBS 6 Nations credentials yet again at Murrayfield on Thursday with a first-half score for club side Edinburgh – however, the Warriors took the spoils by 20-16 in the all-Scotland clash.

He will not have to wait long to go for five tries out of five as the two sides battle again on Wednesday, but Fife admits his flying form has taken him by surprise.

“To be honest, I just found out that I was four in a row,” Fife told the Scotsman.

“So I haven’t even thought about anything higher. This next game is the biggest game that I’ve played in I think, so I’m not looking at anything further just yet.

“We knew that this would be two big games and we’re one down, but we can definitely win over there at Scotstoun and by more than four to win the (1872) cup, but winning is the first priority.”
