Greig Tonks admits he’s enjoying his blossoming partnership with Dougie Fife as both look to make a break for Scotland’s RBS 6 Nations squad.
Utility back Tonks made his international debut this summer, against Samoa in Durban, while Fife is yet to make his senior bow in a Scotland shirt.
Both have been impressive for club side Edinburgh of late with Fife in great scoring form – the wing has crossed in each of his last four Pro 12 games.
And Tonks insists it has been easy to play alongside the 23-year-old, with Fife possessing all the talent to progress at both club and international level.
“Dougie is a quick lad with explosive pace. It’s nice to get him a bit of space and get the ball to him,” Tonks told The Scotsman.
“As well as scoring one try he nearly got there a couple more times as well (against Glasgow Warriors on Boxing Day).
“I am really enjoying stand-off which is a little bit different from what I have been used to.”
