O’Driscoll will become Ireland’s most capped player of all time when he earns his 129th cap on Sunday at the Aviva Stadium.

For Dunbar it will be one of his last chances to test himself against the 35-year-old, who will hang up his boots at the end of the current season.

And the Glasgow centre, 23, admits he’s relishing the opportunity to go head-to-head once again with one of the all-time greats.

“The first time I played against him was in the play-off with Glasgow last year, and it was a huge challenge, but I thought we dealt with him well that day so I’m looking forward to Sunday,” he said.

“He’s had a good career and was definitely someone I looked at as a youngster. I took note of the way he plays and some of the things he does, and I’ve tried to take some of these things into my game.

“In the northern hemisphere they [O’Driscoll and D’Arcy] are probably one of the most experienced partnerships so I’m just really looking forward to it. It’s a great challenge.

“He’s a great player, one of the northern hemisphere’s best and I’m hugely excited to play against him.

“I’ve watched him in the Six Nations since I was young and I know how good he can be on his day, so I’ve got to make sure Sunday’s not his day.”
