Ireland winger Tommy Bowe believes he is finally getting back to his best after a season plagued by injury that forced him to miss the RBS 6 Nations.

Bowe started the season having just helped the British & Irish Lions to their first tour victory in 16 years but injuries have restricted him to just seven appearances for Ulster this season.

He was forced to forgo the RBS 6 Nations as Ireland got their hands on the trophy for the first time in five years but he is targeting silverware on two fronts with Ulster to make up for it.

“My fitness is coming on”, said the 30-year-old, who will hope to be part of Ireland’s summer tour to Argentina.

“It was frustrating being out for a little bit longer than I had hoped but I am feeling like my fitness is getting there. I am getting a bit more game time, I had my first eighty against Edinburgh last weekend and I am feeling good. I was hungry to get back playing again.

“It would be very nice to get a few tries against them again this season, I would love to go over there and score a couple of tries. I enjoy playing there on the new artificial surface, the track is going to be very fast, hopefully the rain stays off and we can play some good rugby.”
