Injury forced Jonathan Davies to miss Wales’ opening three 2014 RBS 6 Nations clashes – but he is determined to see out the season on a high with club side Scarlets.

The centre was back for the Red Dragons’ penultimate match against England and helped his nation end the tournament with a bang in the 51-3 thumping of Scotland.

A pectoral muscle injury back in November has scuppered Davies’ chances of a full campaign but, ahead of his move to French club Clermont next season, he believes he has a lot to offer Scarlets before he departs.

“I would love to see the Scarlets in the top European competition next season, although I would not want to end up in the same group as them. That would be too tough,” he said.

“I want to make sure I end my time with the Scarlets on a good note.

“I am a Scarlets fan, I am from the region and I love the region and I want to leave them in a good place for next season.

“If that means finishing sixth to qualify for Europe then I will do everything I can to make it happen. I am sure we can do it.”
