Fly-half Ruaridh Jackson is the latest Scotland international to move south of the border, having signed a contract with London Wasps for the 2014/15 season.

Jackson, who didn’t feature in the 2014 RBS 6 Nations, joins the likes of Kelly Brown, Duncan Taylor and Euan Murray who already play their rugby in England.

The 26-year-old has found himself behind Duncan Weir in both the Glasgow Warriors and Scotland pecking orders and is excited to begin the next phase of his career.

“I’ve been at Glasgow a long time, but I’m now relishing this new challenge that lies ahead,” said Jackson, who has 23 international caps.

“After meeting Dai [Young, Wasps director of rugby], I was very impressed with what the club has to offer and it’s easy to see the club is going in the right direction.”

Young feels that Jackson will add to the depth of his squad, particularly at fly-half.

“I’ve been very impressed with what I’ve seen of Ruaridh,” Young said.

“He will add to the quality pool of tens we already have and the competition for that position next season will be very strong.”
