Scotland winger Sean Lamont has expressed his delight after putting pen to paper on a new deal at Glasgow Warriors.

The 33-year-old first played for the club between 2003 and 2005 and arrived back in 2012 following stints with Northampton Saints and Scarlets.

And Lamont, who started four of Scotland’s 2014 RBS 6 Nations matches and was recently named in Vern Cotter’s summer tour party, will be a fixture at Scotstoun until at least the summer of 2016 after signing a new two-year-deal.

But despite extending his stay at Glasgow for a little while longer, it is the immediate future and this weekend’s final with Leinster that Lamont is concentrating on.

“It was fantastic to be able to come back to Glasgow in 2012 and I’m delighted to be staying here for at least another two years,” he said.

“I’m now one of the oldest players at the club, but I feel good and I want to continue to play at the highest level for as long as possible.

“We’ve had a good season so far but we’re not finished yet. We’re all really looking forward to our first final this weekend.”
