There were a plethora of eye-catching tries in this five-year period of RBS 6 Nations rugby, but Ireland dominate our list.
Brian O’Driscoll’s score against France in 2005 kicks off the list, the legendary centre breaking the line and putting winger Cedric Heymans on his backside with a side-step before heading for the posts.
The try gave Ireland a sniff of victory at Lansdowne Road, only for Christophe Dominici to score his second of the game in added time and wrap up proceedings.
A year later it was Denis Leamy who grabbed a standout score, capitalising on a sloppy English lineout, showing tidy hands and collapsing over the line.
Jason Robinson’s try against Wales in 2007 was as much scrum-half Harry Ellis’ as his own – the duo linked up to devastating effect at the Millennium Stadium.
It was his fourth try of the Championship but 22 James Hook points ensured it was not enough to deny Wales their first and only win that year.
And 2008 was a festival of great tries, Gonzalo Canale’s score – courtesy of a Sergio Parisse interception inside his own half – was better than most.
Quick French hands had Scotland in all sorts at Murrayfield as Vincent Clerc scored the first of his two tries that day and Ireland book-end the list.
