Wales second row Luke Charteris will ply his trade in England next season after agreeing a deal to join Bath at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old lock, who was part of the Wales team that claimed RBS 6 Nations glory in 2012, winning the Grand Slam, will join from Racing 92, having spent the past four seasons in France.   Charteris has established himself as a regular for a Wales under Warren Gatland, and featured in every game of last season’s RBS 6 Nations.   He made his international debut back in 2004, and will now move to his fourth club, having previously played for Newport Gwent Dragons, Perpignan and Racing.   At Bath he will link up with Wales internationals Rhys Priestland and Dominic Day, while in the second row he faces competition from the likes of Dave Attwood, who was part of England’s squad during this year’s RBS 6 Nations.   “It is such an ambitious club, and that’s a great atmosphere to be joining,” said Charteris.   “They put a lot of emphasis on player development, making sure that everyone is improving no matter how experienced they are, and that is a very exciting environment to be part of.   “There is some incredible talent in the squad and I’m really looking forward to heading over and getting started.”
