It’s already been a season to remember for Mako Vunipola with both a RBS 6 Nations Grand Slam and European Champions Cup winners medal to his name.

And the loosehead prop admits he would be getting close to dreamland if he was then able to mark his 100 Saracens appearance with a Premiership title at Twickenham this afternoon.

Vunipola’s Saracens take on Exeter Chiefs looking to become the first English side since Wasps in 2004 to do the domestic and European double.

For the 25-year-old, it will also be an extra special occasion as he joins the likes of England teammates Owen Farrell, George Kruis and Jackson Wray in passing the 100 cap mark.

And he believes their collective team knowledge and experience has proved invaluable this season.

“I think it’s probably stuff dreams are made of to be fair,” said Vunipola on making his 100th appearance in a Premiership final.

“I wasn’t really that aware that this would be my hundredth game but just to play a hundred games for Sarries is a massive honour really.

“I think that’s probably why we’ve gone so well this year, we’re very lucky to have known each other for a long time now.

“Everyone knows what’s needed of them, what their roles are for the team and you see that on the field, we’re able to be very calm and collected when things aren’t going our way.

“We’re very lucky that we have a lot of players who have played a lot of games for this club and long may it continue.”

Exeter Chiefs meanwhile are contesting their first ever Premiership final after defeating Wasps in the semi-finals last weekend – although Vunipola is not expecting any sign of stage fright from the Devon side.

“Whichever team are able to stay together and stay on task the best and stay together as a team will probably come out on top,” Vunipola added.

“They’re a tightknit group, they’ve got some world class players in there. We know they’re going to come there looking forward to it, it’s their first ever final.

“I remember when we played our first one we were very excited and I think they’ll come out raring to go.“
