France hooker Christopher Tolofua is convinced playing for Saracens will help take his game to the next level after joining the English club on a two-year deal from the beginning of next season.

Tolofua currently plies his trade for Toulouse but will link up with reigning Premiership and Champions Cup holders Sarries following the completion of the 2016/17 Top 14 campaign.

The front-rower has won four caps to date for Les Bleus – all against Argentina – with his debut coming as an 18-year-old back in 2012.

His last appearance was in June 2014 but he will now hope to force his way back into the international reckoning for the 2017 RBS 6 Nations before joining Saracens.

And while the 22-year-old acknowledges it wasn’t an easy decision to leave the only club he has ever played for, the prospect of representing Sarries was just too enticing to turn down.

“I have spent a long time at Stade Toulousain, so joining another squad is a very big move for me and I know I could not find a better team than the Saracens,” said Tolofua.

“I’m excited to play in England next season and test myself in the Aviva Premiership. I think it’s the experience I need to take my rugby to the next stage, whilst serving my best for Sarries.

“The recent past of the Saracens speaks for itself and I am very proud to be joining such a good club with great coaches and great teammates.”
