At the conclusion of the 2017 RBS 6 Nations a total of 12 players have been shortlisted for the Player of the Championship award.

We’ve broken them down one by one looking at what they have achieved during the Championship.

Owen Farrell (England) Age: 25 Minutes played: 400 Tries scored: 0 Points scored: 63   England’s fulcrum in midfield, Owen Farrell started every game of the Championship in the No.12 jersey but shifted across to fly-half when required later in games.

Like teammate Maro Itoje he played every minute of the campaign, and his 63 points were second only to Camille Lopez for the most in the RBS 6 Nations.

Farrell showed his playmaking ability throughout the Championship, with a highlight undoubtedly his perfect pass for Elliot Daly to set up the winning score against Wales in Round Two.

He also reached his 50th England appearance during the victory over Italy in Round Three before shaking off a knock to rack up 26 points as England clinched the Championship against Scotland in Round Four.

Eddie Jones named Farrell as vice captain and he took on the leadership role whenever Dylan Hartley was off the pitch for the champions.
