The official broadcasters of the Six Nations Championship met in Dublin this week to plan for 2018 and review the 2017 edition.

The 2017 Championship was another record year across traditional and digital channels with live television audiences across the core Six Nations territories of England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales up by over one million year-on-year to just over 126 million.

Overseas TV coverage reached 200 million households across 189 territories.

The meeting, hosted by Six Nations CEO John Feehan, was the first for TV3, who will become the Official Championship broadcaster in Ireland in 2018, and was also attended by representatives from the BBC, France TV, ITV, Pitch International and NEP Group.

Fixtures were this week announced for the 2018 and 2019 Championships.

The 2018 Championship will begin on 3 February and take place over seven weeks in February and March with five match weekends and two break weeks before concluding on ‘Super Saturday’ on 17 March.
