Top five Fantasy Rugby players from Round Two
More tries, big scores and returns from attacking players could be good news for Guinness Six Nations Fantasy Rugby managers – but only if you had the right men in your team.
Ireland and Scotland kicked things off on Saturday as Joe Schmidt’s men got their title defence up and running with a 22-13 win at BT Murrayfield.
And Wales followed up their dramatic first round comeback win with another strong performance in Italy to take a 26-15 victory.
But the best was saved for last as England toppled France as Jonny May ran in a hat-trick during Eddie Jones’ side 44-8 triumph at Twickenham, leaving all managers wishing they had picked up the speedster.
Jonny May (England)
May opened his account after just 66 seconds to the delight of England fans and any managers with his name in their starting lineup.
Two further tries completed a hat-trick inside the opening half-hour and a substantial proportion of his 117-point return.
Unsurprisingly May also collected the Guinness Man of the Match award and now sits clear at the top of the tryscoring charts with four to his name already, one ahead of last weekend’s star man Blair Kinghorn.
Owen Farrell (England)
England produced a kicking masterclass against France and it will be music to your ears if you’ve picked Farrell as your fly-half for the Championship this year.
Brilliant from his hands and from the tee, Farrell slotted three conversions and two penalties as he made the most of England’s try-scoring exploits.
What will have bumped his Fantasy Rugby points haul higher than most is a try of his own – taking his total up to 87.6 points.
Henry Slade (England)
After Sunday’s win Henry Slade is now averaging nine tackles per game which is a healthy complement to his attacking returns for Fantasy Rugby bosses.
The England man added another try to his two from his last weekend to further assert himself as a must-have ahead of the third-round clash with Wales.
A 70.6-point return makes him the highest scoring centre in Round Two and the third Englishman on this list, giving some indication that if you want to score heavy, pick England backs.
Josh Adams (Wales)
It was a weekend for the wingers as Josh Adams dabbed down just after the break for Wales in Rome.
He earned 69.1 points for his efforts out wide for Warren Gatland’s men, bettering his score of 45.3 points in Round 1.
Adams price jumped from 12.3 stars for the opener to 14 stars after the second match – but he still trails teammate George North (17 stars) in terms of cost to managers.
Jacob Stockdale (Ireland)
The Irish winger showed why he is one of the premium assets in Guinness Six Nations Fantasy Rugby, registering 65.29 points against Scotland.
He was the highest scorer of any player in the match as he grabbed the second of Ireland’s three tries as they triumphed 22-13 at BT Murrayfield.
Managers will be hoping for more of the same in Round 3 from last year’s top try scorer.
