A Jonny May hat-trick set England on their way to victory in Le Crunch as they downed France 44-8.

After opening the scoring early on against Ireland last weekend, May repeated the trick as England capitalised on a French knock-on.

Elliot Daly gathered and gained ground before setting May on a clear run into the corner with a penetrative kick, the 28-year-old making no mistake.

He added a second after great vision from Owen Farrell set him up out wide, before a devilish step sent him past Damian Penaud to score in the corner.

The Leicester Tigers flyer completed the hat-trick within the first half hour as he latched onto yet another clever kick, this time from Chris Ashton.

France gained a foothold in proceedings as the impressive Penaud crossed down the right after excellent work from Yoann Huget.

But England sealed the bonus-point on the stroke of half-time, Ben Youngs dabbing a cotton-soft kick through for Ashton to chase before the ball was recycled out wide to Henry Slade to score.

After the break, Chris Ashton found himself clean through in a foot race for the ball, and the TMO adjudged the England man to have been impeded as he was set to gather and score.

And their performance was complete when captain Owen Farrell got in on the act, scampering over to dot down after a Jonny May chase.
