Scotland’s players got a chance to get closer to their fans this week during an open training session at Clydebank Community Sports Hub.
Stuart McInally was among the senior players involved, with Scotland Under-20s also in attendance, for the event on Wednesday.
The Scots have already started their preparations for the third round of the Guinness Six Nations when they travel to Paris to take on France. And a week out from that encounter, hooker McInally was thrilled at the reception the team were given, with more than 1700 supporters out in force.
He explained to the SRU website: “It’s been really good fun. It’s great to see so many people come and support us for a training session.
“We train at BT Murrayfield and Oriam quite a lot so it’s nice to take our training around the country and it’s a great facility here at Clydebank, we’ve really enjoyed being here.
“For the players, it’s important that we thank all the people that have come along to support us.”
As well as training, the players enjoyed a selfie session with the fans, while former Scotland skippers Al Kellock and Chris Paterson were also in attendance.
Head coach Gregor Townsend addressed all the supporters after the session to express his gratitude.
The Scots head to the Stade de France for next Saturday’s encounter with Les Bleus where Townsend’s side will look to bounce back from defeat to Ireland last time out.
