France Women have named a 31-player squad for the upcoming Super Series in the USA in June and July.

The tournament, the third of its kind, will see five teams take part in a round robin format with Women’s Six Nations winners England, New Zealand, Canada and USA joining France in San Diego.

Gaëlle Hermet has captained the side in the Women’s Six Nations over the last two years and will play a key role, while Les Bleues can also call on World Rugby Player of the Year Jessy Trémoulière, who made her return from a knee injury during the Six Nations.

Hooker Caroline Thomas, who scored a hat-trick of tries in her side’s emphatic 52-3 opening day victory over Wales in this year’s Championship, is included alongside fellow hat-trick hero Gabrielle Vernier, who scored three tries against Scotland in Lille.

Les Bleues, who finished third in the Women’s Six Nations, have also included lock Audrey Forlani, prop Lise Arricastre and wing Caroline Boujard – who all scored in France’s win over Ireland.

France kick off their campaign against Canada on July 2 before moving on to face New Zealand on July 6, England on July 10 and hosts USA on July 14.
