Italy will be hoping to go one better in the 2020 Women’s Six Nations after proving to be dark horses in last year’s Championship by achieving their best-ever finish.

Three wins, one draw and one defeat saw Andrea Di Giandomenico’s side finish second behind Grand Slam champions England, who finished their campaign unbeaten.

Elisa Giordano will lead the 30-strong Italian squad, which includes the previously uncapped duo of Silva Arpano and Vittoria Ostuni, this time around in place of the injured Manuela Furlan.

Italy begin their campaign with a trip to Wales on the opening weekend, having dropped points against their opponents last year after playing out a tight 3-3 draw in Lecce.

From Cardiff, Italy will then be on the road again in Round 2 as they travel to France – who they stunned 31-12 last year – before enjoying home advantage for the first time in Round 3.

They will welcome Scotland to Legnano for their opening home game while they will head to Dublin for their penultimate fixture of the Championship to face Ireland at Energia Park.

Arguably their biggest game of the Women’s Six Nations then lies in wait in the final round, with reigning champions England travelling to Padova for a potential title decider.
