It comes as no surprise that after France’s flawless start to the 2020 Guinness Six Nations, many of their backs have been stand-out picks in the official Guinness Six Nations Fantasy Rugby game.
Les Bleus’ dynamic half-back partnership has been in outstanding form but a number of other backs have impressed from a Fantasy perspective in the Championship so far.
Romain Ntamack (France)
The fly-half, who at 20 years of age, seemingly has it all. The swagger, the flair and the confidence oozes when Ntamack takes the field of play. The impact his father, Émile, who was a seasoned international, has had on the Toulouse man cannot be underestimated.
Ntamack has amassed a staggering 203.74 Fantasy points in his three games so far, and his stock has significantly risen as a result. The No.10 was listed at a modest 14.7 stars before the Championship got going but is now the most expensive player in the game at 18.1.
The highest scorer in the Championship with 39 points, helped by his two tries and excellent strikes off the tee, makes Ntamack a must-buy before France arrive at BT Murrayfield in Round 4.
Antoine Dupont (France)
Next up is Ntamack’s half-back partner, Dupont. The chemistry engineered at club level has transferred onto the Test stage without a hiccup.
He was made to wait his turn for the No.9 jersey but has so far proved his worth, and then some. Better yet, the scrum-half is a bargain following his below-par score against Wales last time out.
The 23-year-old has earned 127.45 points thus far and can be bought for just 16 stars in the game – a snip for someone with his attacking skillset.
Jonny May (England)
England’s Jonny May has become an integral member of the squad in recent years. One of the first names on the team sheet, the Leicester flyer continues to drop jaws and catch eyes whenever he takes to the turf.
The 29-year-old is just three tries away from becoming England’s second-highest try-scorer, which would move him past Jeremy Guscott, Ben Cohen and Will Greenwood on the list. Could we see that happen in the coming weeks?
The winger has accrued 134.7 Fantasy points in three games and has been a big difference for England. His pair of tries may have come in a losing cause against France but his ability to pop up in big moments makes May a wise investment for the remaining couple of matches.
Matteo Minozzi (Italy)
It’s been a tricky Championship so far for the Azzurri, who have lost each of their opening three games in this year’s Guinness Six Nations. A silver lining in Italy’s cloud, however, has been the performances of Matteo Minozzi.
The Wasps back has been a constant headache for the opposition and has the Fantasy points to back it up. Priced at a reasonable 14.7 stars, Minozzi has collected a shade under a century of points, making the Italian an efficient purchase.
Bundee Aki (Ireland)
Sometimes you don’t have to break the bank to add some valuable Fantasy points and Bundee Aki has provided plenty of bang for his buck. At 14.4 stars, Aki is one of the cheapest in Ireland’s back-line and has stood up on numerous occasions in an Ireland jersey.
The centre has scored 136.8 points in the game, having been effective in both attack and defence.
