A try double from Ben Youngs propelled England to what proved to be a Championship-winning 34-5 victory over Italy in Rome.

Centurion Youngs was the standout performer at Stadio Olimpico, as the scrum-half marked his 100th appearance for his country with a try in either half for Eddie Jones’ side.

The Leicester Tigers man got his first just five minutes in, latching onto Owen Farrell’s break as the visitors came charging out the blocks in search of a bonus-point victory.

Jake Polledri put a cat among the pigeons with an Italian try midway through the first half, which saw the away side lead 10-5 going into the break.

But England put their foot back on the gas after the interval, with Youngs getting his second, before Jamie George crossed with half an hour to play on his 50th outing for his country.

The bonus point was eventually secured when Tom Curry sidled over in the corner, before Henry Slade rounded off the scoring late on to further boost the points difference.

The comfortable victory was enough to secure a third Championship victory in five years for England, with neither Ireland or France doing enough to surpass them in the final match of Super Saturday.
