Romain Ntamack paid tribute to the support of the French fans after Les Bleus beat Ireland in the final round of the Guinness Six Nations.

While the game was played without fans in the Stade de France because of the current health crisis, Ntamack wanted to pay tribute to all those watching from home.

France were keen to produce a spectacular performance to round out their campaign, and they did just that with a bonus-point win over Ireland, 35-27, which saw them finish the Championship in second place.

Ntamack scored a try early in the second half, getting on the end of a blind inside pass from Antoine Dupont, before creating France’s fourth try with a delightful chip over the Ireland defence before putting Virimi Vakatawa away.

And on social media, he thanked the French fans for their support.

He said: “Hi everyone, just a little message to thank you for your support this evening. This win is for you, we know it’s tough for everyone.

“We are lucky to be able to play our sport and be happy.

“So I hope we made you happy this evening and last week and you were able to smile a little at home. A big thank you to you all and this win is for all French people!”
