Louis Rees-Zammit has been named as the Guinness Six Nations Player of Round 2 after a thrilling performance in Wales’ 25-24 win against Scotland.

The 20-year-old winger scored the winning try ten minutes from time by chasing down his own chip after a lung-bursting sprint down the right to maintain Wales’ winning start to the campaign.

Hook: Rees-Zammit has potent mix of rugby brain and pace

Scotland raced out of the traps to take a 17-3 lead through tries from Darcy Graham and Stuart Hogg but Rees-Zammit reduced the gap at half-time with his first try of the day, finishing off a flat Nick Tompkins pass in the right corner by cutting back inside a defender.

The game then flipped on its head in the second half, with Rees-Zammit playing a delightful pass to set up Liam Williams’ try, before Scotland had Zander Fagerson sent off.

Wyn Jones burrowed over to put Wales ahead but Hogg regained the lead for Scotland 15 minutes from the end.

However, Rees-Zammit had the last word with his third try of the Championship and fourth for Wales, winning a thrilling game.

He took home 42% of the vote, with France full-back Brice Dulin just behind second with 41.2%.

Dulin set up Damian Penaud’s crucial second-half try as France won 15-13 away to Ireland.

France captain Charles Ollivon was third, taking home 9.3% of the vote, while England winger Anthony Watson was fourth after his two-try display against Italy, earning 7.5%.
