There was no shortage of drama, incident and tries as two games delivered 122 points between them in a thrilling Guinness Six Nations double header on Saturday.
Ireland raised the curtain on Round 3 as they ran in six tries in Rome to prevail 48-10 at Stadio Olimpico against Italy, with Will Connors scoring a brace for the visitors.
All eyes then turned to Cardiff where Wales and England renewed their fierce rivalry in an enthralling end-to-end contest that ended in a 40-24 triumph for Wayne Pivac’s side.

KIERAN HARDY – WALES 40-24 ENGLAND
Given the No.9 shirt from the start in only his fourth cap, Kieran Hardy enjoyed a game to remember as he pulled the strings for Wales in a brilliant all-round display.

He also contributed to the scoreboard with a moment of individual class just after the break, with quick-thinking allowing the scrum-half to cross the whitewash on 48 minutes.
England were caught completely off guard by the 25-year-old, who took a quick tap penalty after an offence by Jonny Hill at the breakdown and sprinted over for a clever score.
JOHAN MEYER – ITALY 10-48 IRELAND
The Azzurri were second best in Rome as a clinical Ireland raced into a 27-3 lead but the hosts showed their attacking potential with a superb try just before half-time.
With the clock in the red and Italy in the Ireland 22 after multiple infringements from the visitors, Callum Braley spread the ball wide to fly-half Paolo Garbisi on his left.
From there, Garbisi dummied brilliantly and dived through a gap in the wall of green shirts before offloading the ball in the tackle to Johan Meyer on his shoulder to cross the whitewash.
HUGO KEENAN – ITALY 10-48 IRELAND
It’s safe to say Hugo Keenan likes playing against Italy. The full-back scored against the Azzurri on his international debut last October and found the tryline again on Saturday.
The moved started just outside the Italian 22 on the half-hour mark, with Jamison Gibson-Park spotting an overlap and throwing the ball wide as Ireland’s backline showed great hands.
Garry Ringrose powered forward before offloading to an onrushing Keenan, who showed his pace to slice through the Italian defence and leave Luca Sperandio in his trail to score his fourth Ireland try.
ANTHONY WATSON – WALES 40-24 ENGLAND
One of England’s stars of the 2021 Championship so far, Anthony Watson just can’t stop scoring at the moment and grabbed his third try from three games at Principality Stadium.

The Red Rose were trailing 17-6 with five minutes of the first half to play when Watson made his mark by finishing off a superb team move from the visitors in the right corner.
With England just inside the Wales 22, Ben Youngs provided quick ball to Jamie George to open up space for Watson, who came inside and shrugged off the challenge of Josh Adams and Alun Wyn Jones to crash over.
