Ireland wing Beibhinn Parsons has been voted the Women’s Six Nations Player of Round 2 following a scintillating performance against Wales.

The 19-year-old, whose star continues to rise on the international scene, combined with teammate Eimear Considine to wrap up the bonus point inside 20 minutes with two tries each in their 45-0 victory.

She gained 40% of the vote to beat teammate Hannah Tyrrell and England duo Meg Jones and Abby Dow.

Parsons is fast becoming one of the hottest young prospects in world rugby and showed why at Cardiff Arms Park, scoring the Women’s Six Nations Try of Round 2.

She used all of her power and pace to escape the attentions of two Welsh tacklers on halfway before charging under the posts with the hosts barely knowing what had hit them.

The winger then added a second score for herself minutes later as the Wales defence proved unable to live with her attacking threat.

And Parsons could have scored a hat-trick, only to be stopped inches short of the line with eight minutes of the contest remaining.

England centre Meg Jones also starred in Round 2, putting in a Player of the Match display in her side’s 67-3 win over Italy, as she gained 24% of the vote.

The 24-year-old was a key presence in driving her team forward, making 140 metres from her 11 carries in all, while breaking nine tackles in the process.

She was also hugely instrumental in limiting the hosts to just three points, putting in seven crucial tackles.

Parsons’ teammate Tyrrell pulled the strings from fly-half as she scored one try and set up another in Ireland’s big win, also earning 24% of the vote.

She was also metronomic from the tee, converting five tries successfully.

And Abby Dow also made her presence felt in Round 2, scoring a quickfire double as England registered four tries in seven second-half minutes, as she earned 12% of the vote.

The wing provided the creative spark her side needed in the second half, gaining 134 metres and breaking six tackles in her 11 carries.
