We are all set for a decisive weekend in the Women’s Six Nations, with Saturday’s two matches to determine who finishes where in the pool stage – and who will go head-to-head on Finals Day.

The action begins in Dublin, where Ireland welcome France at 2.15pm, before concluding in Glasgow as Scotland take on Italy from 5pm.

The results will determine the Super Saturday fixtures, which will see first meet first, second meet second and third meet third from the respective pools on a huge day of rugby next weekend.

Permutations are fairly straightforward going into Saturday’s games – calculators should be able to stay safely stored away – so without further or do, here are the Round 3 scenarios.

POOL B – IRELAND V FRANCE (2.15PM)

The equation couldn’t be simpler for both Ireland and France ahead of this Pool B crunch clash – win and a place in the final awaits.

Both sides are level on five points going into the contest following convincing wins over Wales, who will finish third in Pool B no matter what happens in Dublin.

Ireland unchanged as they look to step up a gear against France

The victors will keep their Championship hopes alive and set up a meeting with Pool A winners England in Super Saturday’s first/second-place play-off.

Adam Griggs’ side are on the hunt for their first Women’s Six Nations crown since 2015, while Les Bleues are looking to get their hands on a trophy they last won three years ago.

If the game is drawn, France will advance to the final by virtue of their superior points difference (+53 versus Ireland’s +45)

Whoever loses at Energia Park will go into the third/fourth-place play-off, where they will face the winners of the second game of the day…

POOL A – SCOTLAND V ITALY (5PM)

The final is out of reach for both Scotland and Italy following defeats against reigning champions England over the past fortnight – but finishing positions remain well and truly up for grabs.

The winners at Scotstoun will earn second place in Pool A and meet the beaten side from Ireland’s clash with France on Super Saturday.

Whoever finds themselves on the losing side, meanwhile, will go into the fifth/sixth-place play-off against Wales next weekend.

And if the game is a draw, Scotland will finish second and Italy third due to Bryan Easson’s side’s superior points difference (-42 versus Italy’s -64).
