Captain Manuela Furlan grabbed a hat-trick as Italy saw off Scotland 41-20 at Scotstoun to secure second place in Women’s Six Nations Pool A.

The visitors ran in seven tries in all to get the better of the Scots, and they will play host to Ireland on Super Saturday in the third-place play-off.

Beatrice Rigoni, Women’s Six Nations Player of the Match, scored two tries as Italy wrapped up the bonus point early in the second half.

Ilaria Arrighetti and Vittoria Ostuni Minuzzi scored tries either side of the half-time whistle while Lana Skeldon and Emma Wassell both crossed for the hosts.

Bryan Easson’s side will now face Wales on Super Saturday in the final match of this year’s Women’s Six Nations.
