Romane Menager has won the Women’s Six Nations Try of Round 3 after her eye-catching finish in France’s 56-15 victory over Ireland.

Les Bleues were in rampant form in Dublin on Saturday, as they ran in seven tries in a barnstorming performance on the road, with the replacement back-row scoring the pick of the bunch just before the hour mark, which saw her top the voting with 42% of selections made.

Victory for Annick Hayraud’s side saw them set up a crunch clash with England on Super Saturday, with the victor of the showdown set to be named Women’s Six Nations Champions for 2021.

And if France continue to play some of the rugby that they were showcasing in the Irish capital they will fancy their chances of reclaiming the crown, with Menager’s try the perfect example of what this side is capable of when everything comes together.

The move started just past the halfway line, as Pauline Bourdon played quick ball to Cyrielle Banet, before the winger slipped the ball out to Caroline Drouin.

And the fly-half’s similarly quick hands released Menager down the right flank, who still had work to do to get to the line, but the 24-year-old powered past Eimear Considine at fullback to get to the line, and round off a terrific French move.

Menager was just one of five players to touch down in Saturday’s affair, with Caroline Boujard helping herself to a brace, as did Banet, while Safi N’Diaye Emilie Boulard also crossed – with the latter also being nominated for Try of the Round, but missed out with 33% of the vote.

The Italian duo of Manuela Furlan and Ilaria Arrighetti were also part of the vote after the Azzurre’s 41-20 victory over Scotland last weekend, but ended up with 13% and 12% of the vote respectively.
