Simone Gesi Italy Under-20s France

A dramatic finale at Cardiff Arms Park saw France hold on to beat Italy in a compelling Round 2 encounter in the 2021 Six Nations Under-20s.

Les Bleuets produced a remarkably resilient defensive display in the second half to deny the Italian, who spent most of the second 40 minutes in the French 22.

The Azzurrini still had a chance to nick the win but Manfredi Albanese’s 77th-minute penalty drifted wide as France earned their first win of this year’s Championship.

In the first half, two moments of incredible quality had lit up Cardiff, with Simone Gesi scoring a scintillating solo try before Nelson Epee finished off an equally mesmerising team move for France.
