France to take on Black Ferns in November

Ireland v France suivre

France women are set to test themselves against world champions New Zealand as part of their autumn schedule.

Les Bleues, who finished as runners-up in the 2021 Women’s Six Nations after a narrow defeat to England in the final, will take on the Black Ferns twice in as many weeks, after an opening clash with South Africa.

They will face South Africa for the first time since the 2014 World Cup in an encounter at the Stade de la Rabine in Vannes on Saturday 6 November.

The two teams have been drawn together in the same pool at the 2022 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand, along with Six Nations champions England and Fiji.

The following week on Saturday 13 November they will take on the Black Ferns in Pau at the Stade du Hameau, with New Zealand also due to play England twice this autumn.

And the sides will meet again a week later on Saturday 20 November at the Stade Pierre-Fabre in Castres in the second match of their double header.

France have a fine recent record against the Black Ferns, having won the last two meetings between the two sides, including a 30-27 win in Grenoble in front of 17,000 fans in 2018, the second highest attendance ever for a women’s match behind the world record 17,440 who attended the 2018 Women’s Six Nations clash between France and England at the same ground.

All three of the autumn matches will be shown live on France 2.
