Four of the new faces are forwards, with Bordeaux Begles prop Thierry Paiva selected alongside second rows Thibaud Flament, Florent Vanverberghe and Florian Verhaeghe.

A further five new additions are included among the 19 backs, with Toulouse winger Matthis Lebel and Racing 92’s wing Donovan Taofifenua in contention for their first international caps.

Bordeaux No.9 Maxime Lucu is another of the uncapped contingent named in the squad and will compete for a spot alongside 2020 Player of the Championship Antoine Dupont and Lyon scrum-half Baptiste Couilloud.

Clermont Auvergne centre Tani Vili and Bordeaux full-back Romain Buros are the other two stars included who are yet to make their international bows for Les Bleus.

Hooker Camille Chat, centre Pierre-Louis Barassi and wing Teddy Thomas miss out through injury.
