Six Nations Rugby is sad to learn that Scotland international Siobhan Cattigan has died at the age of 26.

Cattigan was a key figure for Scotland after making her debut in the 2018 Women’s Six Nations and went on to win 19 caps.

The back-row forward featured in Scotland’s historic 15-12 win against Ireland in her debut Championship campaign, their first away victory in 12 years, and in the 2020 draw against France.

She started all three of Scotland’s 2021 Championship matches and came off the bench in September’s Rugby World Cup 2021 Europe Qualifier against Spain.

Scottish Rugby released a statement last night, saying: “The thoughts of all our people and players go out to Siobhan’s family and many teammates at Stirling County and Scotland at this incredibly difficult time.

“Specialist Scottish Rugby employees are now providing on-going support to those most closely affected.”

Everyone at Six Nations Rugby would like to extend their condolences to Siobhan Cattigan’s family and friends.
