Jac Morgan credited his family after winning his first Wales cap against Scotland in Round 2 of the 2022 Guinness Six Nations.
The openside flanker played all 80 minutes as Wales responded to a convincing Round 1 loss to Ireland by beating Scotland 20-17 at the Principality Stadium.
It was a much-improved performance from Wayne Pivac’s side, who are missing several experienced internationals through injury.
Morgan, 22, filled the void on debut with strong ball-carrying and made a team-high 13 tackles.
After receiving his cap from former Welsh openside and team manager Martyn Williams, the Ospreys man paid tribute to his closest relatives.
He said: “My family has been supporting me ever since I was young, without them I wouldn’t be here today.
“To have them here to watch the game and share the experience with me is excellent.
“It’s hard to describe the feeling today but I’m really proud, it’s amazing.
“To get a victory on my first cap was the icing on the cake.”
Morgan and Wales play England in Round 3 at Twickenham, a stadium where they have not won in the Guinness Six Nations since 2012.
However, unlike their next opponents, England failed to beat Scotland this year, as they lost 20-17 at BT Murrayfield in Round 1.
