England and South Africa will meet to finish the Autumn Nations Series for the second year running after a fixture between the two was confirmed for 2022.
The clash with the Springboks will round off a formidable schedule for England, who will also take on Argentina, Japan and the All Blacks before meeting the world champions.
In the 2021 Autumn Nations Series, England finished unbeaten with a final victory over the Springboks clinched by a late Marcus Smith penalty.
Now they look forward to two games against 2023 Rugby World Cup opposition in Argentina and Japan, both in the same pool as Eddie Jones’ side for the competition in France.
Then comes a meeting with New Zealand, the first time the sides will have faced off since the 2019 World Cup when Jones’ team triumphed 19-7 in the semi-finals.
And last, but not least, England will take on South Africa, the two having played out a thriller at Twickenham last month as the home side edged to a 27-26 victory.
Eddie Jones said: “These fixtures will be a really important part of our preparation for the 2023 World Cup.
“It’s almost a mini World Cup in itself and we’re fortunate to have it less than a year before the tournament.
“It will be a good litmus test for the team to see where we are at, culminating in playing first and second in the world.
“We saw how much of a difference having a full Twickenham Stadium was this autumn and we can’t wait to play a series of games against such quality opposition in front of our supporters.”
