Romain Ntamack has been recognised for his brilliant display against New Zealand by being voted the Autumn Nations Series Player of the Week.
The France fly-half produced arguably the moment of the autumn when he ran the ball out from his own in-goal area and sparked a length-of-the-field counter-attack that ended with Ardie Savea going to the sin-bin and swung the 40-25 victory over the All Blacks.
Having played the first two games of November at inside centre, alongside Matthieu Jalibert, Ntamack was restored to the fly-half role and did not disappoint.
As well as that magical counter-attack, he also made the break that provided the field position for the opening try for Peato Mauvaka, before scoring the second himself.
And he played a key role in Mauvaka’s second after claiming Gaël Fickou’s batted pass and breaking down the left.
All in all, it was a fine display from Ntamack, and the fans clearly agreed as he secured 44 percent of the public vote.
That was enough to see him get the better of England’s Freddie Steward, the Player of the Match in the 27-26 win over world champions South Africa.
Steward finished in second, with Mauvaka, who scored two tries against the All Blacks, in third and Henry Slade rounding out the nominees.
