James Ryan will captain Ireland in their Autumn Nations Series finale against Argentina this weekend in the absence of Johnny Sexton.
Sexton twisted his ankle and knee during the memorable 29-20 win over New Zealand and it was confirmed earlier this week that he will be on the sidelines for four to six weeks – although the fly-half will remain with the squad to help them prepare for Sunday’s clash.

Second-rower Ryan captained Ireland during their summer Tests when Sexton was rested and will don the armband once again at the Aviva Stadium for the 2.15pm kick-off.
The IRFU also confirmed that scrum-half Jamison Gibson-Park has been ruled out of the game against Los Pumas due to a thigh injury, with Leinster’s Luke McGrath called into the squad as cover.
Gibson-Park impressed in the victories over Japan and the All Blacks but his absence means one of Conor Murray, Craig Casey or McGrath will wear the No.9 jersey from the start in Dublin.
