Hamish Watson is one of those players who it is impossible to miss on a rugby pitch. The mullet might be gone but the all-action style and relentless work-rate is as present as ever for the back-rower.
This weekend it was Australia who found themselves on the receiving end of a Watson masterclass, with one five-minute spell ending up proving crucial in the 15-13 success.
Named Player of the Match on the day, Watson has now been chosen by the fans as the Player of the Week in the second week of Autumn Nations Series action.
It continues a remarkable year for Watson, named Guinness Six Nations Player of the Championship and selected to tour with the British & Irish Lions this summer.
Against Australia, he showed what a danger he is at the breakdown with a turnover penalty as Hunter Paisami had crashed up to within five metres of the Scottish line.
And in a flash, Scotland got over for their first try at the other end, with none other than Watson the man to finish off a clever lineout move and drive.
Add in the 14 tackles, the most of any player at BT Murrayfield, and none missed, and it was another reminder of just how big an influence Watson has on games.
That display was enough to get him the nod ahead of Andrew Conway and his hat-trick heroics against Japan, dead-eye kicker Melvyn Jaminet in France’s win over Argentina, and veteran full-back Francois Steyn to help the Springboks see off Wales.
