Josh Adams believes he has plenty more to give in a Welsh jersey after scoring his first Test try in the summer series.

The winger dotted down in Wales’ 30-12 victory over Argentina in June having been called up to replace the injured Steff Evans.

The Worcester Warrior made his debut for Wales in their dramatic opening Six Nations win over Scotland earlier this year and has made quick progression internationally.

He also featured in the loss to England but it was his performance in Sante Fe that the winger feels established him on the international scene after a rollercoaster two years.

He said: “The longer I can stay in this environment the better it’s going to be for me moving forward. It’s been a crazy two years. It’s been like a fairy tale.

“I had two terrific weeks in Argentina and all I wanted to do as soon as I arrived was to try and impress and start the two Tests.

“Thankfully the coaches saw something in me and I’d like to think I took my opportunity. I just want to keep improving and getting better.

“Hopefully there will be many more opportunities in the future. As soon as you’ve had a taste of playing Test rugby that’s all you want is to be there as often as you can be.

“You better yourself as a player and I love being in an international environment. It’s intense and brings the best out of you.”

Adams took his chance to display the clinical finishing that saw him top the try-scoring charts last season in the Premiership with 13.

And the 23-year-old winger hopes his score against Los Pumas was the first of many.

“I was obviously really happy to get my first international try and it was extra special to finish the series with a 2-0 win,” he said.

“It all happened so quickly to be honest. It came from a little fumble from Rhys Patchell, then I managed to scoop it up, run in between two forwards and it was just about avoiding whoever came at me.

“I didn’t even know I had that step in the locker! I just saw a big forward coming my way and thought I better get out of his way!”
